Description: Everyone encounters stress in life. There are specific types of stress that are proven to be detrimental to a person’s development and well-being. Too often children encounter this type of negative exposure which activates long-term stress responses on the body. Fortunately, Early Childhood Educators have the power to tackle this. This course will assist participants in investigating the three types of stress and exploring the consequences of toxic stress. Participants will understand their role in intervention and prevention of toxic stress and gain useful strategies for all age groups.

- Examine types of stress, stress responses and toxic stress
- Analyze long term effects of toxic stress
- Identify strategies for protecting and relieving children from toxic stress
Audience: Applicable for teachers and administrators of ages (Birth – 12yrs).
Session Specifics: This training uses a visual presentation, group interaction, discussions, self reflection and hands-on activities. Trainer will provide AV equipment, handouts, and certificates. Screen or white wall is needed along with space for group movement.
